ஓம் & Brain

I came across this particular question which put me in deep thinking.
A devotee of Adhiparasakthi, Melmaruvathur, ADVAITH, had asked this question in their forum.

He asked if anyone else noticed the resemblance between the Tamil Om Symbol and the image of brain.
I see a lot of resemblance.

I wonder if there is any connection.

Skeptics may argue that the picture of brain we see is sideways and not front. But hey, why do we always see it in sideways, and not front. Because I guess it represents all the important parts of the brain. When you google for brain, and go to images, this is what you see.

I am inclined to think that it is just a coincidence.

hmmm... coincidence.
Interesting.

Yu know, I don't believe in coincidences.
I believe that in life everything happens for reason.

I think lot of things happened in my life which made me come to that conclusion.

Sometimes when something happens, I used to wonder, why, why is this happening. But after few moments(minutes, days, weeks, months, even years in some cases) I realized why that happened.
That made me believe everything is connected somehow.

Have you ever felt that way!
I mean, forget this Om and Brain, but in life , have you felt that way? Or you believe in life too there are just coincidences and are in no way connected?
Just curious if anyone feels the same as I do.

Very interesting observation about Om and the Brain having a resemblance - well its sheer representation of the brain in that angle and to me does not mean anything. The brain is a brain and relating that to Om does not make sense!

Vimal - I do believe that every thing that happens has a reason associated with it. Infact it may not take too long to associate a reason to an action. Just another thought - can we say a reason to a coincidence is what we term as destiny ... do you belive in destiny or fate?

Check out the meaning for Coincidence...
1. The condition or fact of happening at the same time; as, the coincidence of the deaths of John Adams and Thomas Jefferson.
2. The condition of occupying the same place in space; as, the coincidence of circles, surfaces, etc.

Check this quote from Deepak Chopra - When you live your life with an appreciation of coincidences and their meanings, you connect with the underlying field of infinite possibilities.

Vimal - I do believe that events, thoughts, incidents are all orchestrated. So there is a purpose and significance to every tool that aids in individual progression.

However, I also believe that the mind is very fond of dividing, rationalizing, associating various elements in order to convince itself that understanding is possible.

In recent years I have been thinking of the validity of the 'answers to questions' format in attempting to understand the larger picture.

I think you might be interested in this book.

Do I believe in destiny or fate?

hmm. good question.

Some scriptures say that everything that is going to happen has already been decided. We just travel through time. Being mere spectators to what is happenning(Heard about "Akashic Records or Book of Life").

Some scriptures say that we are given several choices, and depending on what we choose our path and destiny is determined.

Which is true, or can both be true at same time?

If both are true, how can we fit them together (similar to the problem that Einstein had trying to relate/connect gravity and electromagnetism to come up with unified field theory)

I came across some source recently which questions the validity of Bhagvad Gita itself as we knwo it today. That has shocked me so much, Iam yet to recover from it. For I thought the whole of Gita was Song of God, but apparently it may not be true. It looks likes a lot of it may be just Song of some Brahmins those days.

For those who like to be shocked a little bit...
it's been said that Bhagavad Gita has borrowed things from Bible and Quran.

For those who like to be shocked a little bit...
it's been said that Bhagavad Gita, as we know it today, the modified verison, has borrowed things from Bible and Quran.

Subha, I knew that Bible was edited. But I never knew Gita and other vedas were edited. I always believed they were 100% authentic.
